Tell them about your email, "Customer not registered for gold service at this location" warning and ask them to fix it.
Also confirm your reservation and payment will be w/Amex Plat and confirm 4 hour grace period. Once confirmed, if you have a problem with Hertz Australia, you'll simply call Amex back and they will take care of the overcharge. Keep all paperwork and politely get employee name if not honoring grace period.
