As I run through the Kimptons in DC I am finding that I really like the chain.
Another stay and another upgrade as an Inner Circle - I think (?). I was upgraded to a fitness room which was weird b/c I have become very lazy lately. Was that a hint based on my eating habits at the other DC Kimptons? Useful motivation? This hotel is really an old condo complex and the layout of the room is neat. There is a cubby hole at the TV end of the bedroom that was filled with a couch. Basically a couch room. Fun!
The location isn't bad either. Not on the main drag but on a side street. Decent food and drink within a couple blocks of the hotel. Close to Dupont Circle. Use either the Dupont or Farragut North metro stops with Dupont being closer. Depending on your amount of luggage, condition of your knees or anything that might impede your walking ability, Farragut West [different metro line than Farragut North] is close enough to walk.
Wine tasting wasn't as extensive as the other DC Kimptons but this is a small hotel and there were <10 people at the event. The food/snacks ordered to go with the wine were really good. The furniture in the bar is really neat too.
Service was great throughout with one exception. Early in the morning, the cleaning crew were screaming to each other in Spanish in the hall outside of my room. It was too early and too loud. A quick head out the door and a ¡Cállate! put an end to it. No blood no foul but I really didn't want to get up that early

. Anyways still a great stay. Ended with the bellhop running down the street to get me a taxi. He got tipped twice that day
Cheers -
