Sorry for my initial post that apparently was confusing. I am arriving to T3 at ORD from MSP on an American economy flight. Then catching a First Class BA flight leaving T5 to Heathrow, and then changing planes to a BA Club Europe flight to Prague.

I assumed to get first class luggage tags I would have to go landslide at ORD, claim my luggage from American carousal and check-in at BA counter to get the first class luggage tags. My other option is to see if American will interline my luggage in MSP, and stay airside at ORD and forget the first class tags, and take the BA bus from T3 to T5.

I have a long time between the two flights, so I don't know if getting first class luggage tags is worth going landside. I don't know if they have any benefit. From what most people have said, it sounds like they really don't serve much of a purpose.
