Southwest moved into Boston shortly before they moved into ATL, and that move made even less sense than ATL, on the face of it - AirTran was well established in Boston, but unlike ATL, Boston also has good service from JetBlue. So what was in it for Southwest?
I think they changed their business model, and are now trying to play in the same sandbox as the legacy carriers. Large, congested airports and all.
