Service I have had on SW is equal to anyone. And as you say they are friendly, not something you can always say for Delta. (Especially if you get have the misfortune to fly the commuter side where the Gate Agents take lessons in RUDE)

That said they are not cheaper generally or I would be on them. My company rule is cheapest not "that which earns you status in a program you like" LOL!
