i know i'm going to get BBQ'ed for this, but this story reminds me of why i never use skycaps. plus, nearly every time i have had luggage mishandled in some way was when i used a skycap. i'm done with that.

but this story does bring up a good point about what to do when your passport is lost or damaged during travel. customs/immigrations officers (no matter what country) are your opponent in these situations, not someone who will help you. i now feel like i need to understand what the options are if this happens...
