certain people will be better off and others wont be, I am aware its a business and I dont expect Qantas to pay for me to carry my bags but at the same time I dont expect them to charge me an absolute fortune for carrying an extra bag.

I often take an extra bag with me as I travel for long periods and go from one climate to another, many people it will not effect. Im just saying that in my case I will be a lot worse off and may have to choose another carrier, some people may be better off and come accross from other carriers.

Only time will tell. I think this merger with EK will make or break QF, hopefully it will come out stronger but I really do not think for one second that EK care about QF. In my opinion they are using QF so that they can control most of traffic between Australia and europe.

I really cant stand Alan Joyce, I have seen nothing but sadness for Qantas since he came on board.

I am not a rich person and only travel Y, but I love Qantas because I am Aussie born and bred and always show loyalty as I remember flying Qantas when I was a kid and it was the most amazing experience of my life. Little things make a difference to some people.

I just hope there is a QF thread on flyertalk in 5 years time.
