Somehow I'll bet that National will buy up a ton of old Impalas at a sharply reduced rate to clear them out of the dealer lots. It wouldn't surprise me if the new Impala creeps up to PCAR with it's Buick cousins, seeing as it's been sharing FCAR status with it's smaller brother, the Malibu. Unfortunately, once that happens, ALL Impalas become PCARs, even a previous-gen model with cloth seats and 30,000 on the clock. That's just how National's system works. However I'm sure most locations would only put the old ones out on the aisle, rather than give them to someone with a PCAR reservation.
