One reason to choose a hotel other than the Renaissance Seattle (at least for me) is that the Ren seems to have set all of its thermostats to default to some sort of energy saving 'auto' setting just a few moments after you manually adjust the fan.
Normally, you have the option to set the fan on low, medium or high. I often leave the fan on 'low' overnight to create white noise to drown out door slams, hallway conversations, etc.
This is not possible at the Seattle Renaissance since the setting flips back to 'auto' - meaning that the fan continually turns on and off to maintain whatever temperature you've selected - shortly after you touch the thermostat. I've stayed there a few times now in different rooms each time, and have had this problem every time. Very frustrating!
