I am not saying that B fares don't go up. IME Y B M fares rarely change. Fares are determined by fare basis codes (you can look them up on EF), and you usually only see 1-2 fare basis codes for those higher buckets whereas you often see 3-5 for mid-range or lower fares. That doesn't make it impossible for them to change, because DL could always alter the fares/basis codes. I was just speaking from my experience only.
I'm also not saying all B fares are changeable with no change fee. Many of them are, but to be sure you must read the full fare rules.
