Back to the OPs question. Should the use of Avios get you into the lounge? Sure, why not? However, it would just be a matter of time before BA starts to charge some sort of "YQ" "fees" for lounge access.
Given the claims made here on the consumption of premium alcohol, including LPGS, I'm surprised they haven't done it already!
