To follow up on my previous post on whether to pay cash, points or Points/Cash, my gf recently received the Hilton Reserve & Citi Honors cards, and she has the Amex Hilton card already. We want to stay 4 nights in Prague from Sat to Wed, we have the option of using the 2 night weekend reward certificates too. She will have approx. 120,000 HHonors points, not enough for AXON or GLON redemption.

Is purchasing the non-refundable rate for $150/night still be the better option. Charging it on the Reserve card earns 10 points per dollar spent which we can redeem in Asia in 2014, and S. Africa in 2015 to stay at nicer properties through GLON/AXON redemption.
