I don't see this as a contradiction.
In most markets fares have risen somehow along fuel prices but on the many monopolistic routes in Europe, prices went through the roof and the traveling experience through the bottom.
..I think the pressure of the LCC is too strong and too many people have gotten spoiled by LCC fares (and LCC service level).
I know that the NEK is an abomination ... but how can you get spoiled by the LCC experience?????
Emirates does not have all those minor airport services in their balance and they are being accused of unfair practices since quite some time too, there is a whole Wikipedia article on that.
Then what is the term to be used for LH's practices? Are we merely a collateral in a war not co-started by LH?
