Well, I think two options:
A. They can't read their numbers well
B. They do
I am not quite sure, but if I read some of the end-of-February ex-SENs here, they tend to complain about both the high fares and the declining service, I think the pressure of the LCC is too strong and too many people have gotten spoiled by LCC fares (and LCC service level).
I wouldn't compare AF and their policy to LH or to Emirates for that sake, perhaps both have enough meat in their network to cross subsidize, or in the case of AF, are just slow to adjust. LH doesn't seem to have enough to spare for cross subsidizing all Intra Europe anymore.
Emirates does not have all those minor airport services in their balance and they are being accused of unfair practices since quite some time too, there is a whole Wikipedia article on that.
