Why do the 737s take so long to board? I know the inane tinkering with the boarding process (and refusal of UA execs to acknowledge the PMUA process worked better) contributes, but I've had several 737 flights this year already where GA started boarding early--even ahead of the new, longer UA boarding times--and the GAs aggressively encouraged gate checking bags, and we still had pax standing in the aisle all the way down the plane 5 minutes before scheduled departure.
This happened to me earlier this week. Got to the gate right at the scheduled boarding time to discover that boarding was already almost finished. Ended up being one of the last people on board, and had to check my bag despite sitting in F.
