The drive from mainline-served Durango to Moab isn't bad (maybe 2.5 hours) but it's not quite the same. I always thought it would be incredibly cool to fly into Moab from Page when they flew it (like flying LAS-PGA-CNY), but knowing my luck it would be a cloudy day.
