We will be spending 4 nights at the Intercontinental Hotel in late May. My preference is NOT to rent a car and to rely on public buses to get to the hotel and to get around. During our visit we would like to spend evenings in Berchtesgaden for meals, and during the day go hiking and visit the Konigssee. Is it possible to do this without a car? Or will we be disappointed not to have a car?
The public transport is actually very good and it's free with the hotel guest card. The hotel has it's own bus stop and there are regular buses down to town and back again.In my experience it is entirely possible to comfortably manage without a car, I did it last year and will do the same next week!
