I don't know if I can trust Citi's rep I called this morning (I applied for 2 AA cards, visa was approved instantly, amex - wasn't and received a rejection mail with "multiple applications for the credit"' reason). She told me that I cannot submit 2 applications for the same product, but can for different products (like AA + Hilton/TYP/whatever).
She is correct.
This is the new "game rules" we would need to go by since 2 to 3 weeks ago.
Now Citi system has been updated and all specialists are trained on the new policy, we would need to up our game as well.
Just to take it further, Hilton app would have pull from a different entity, therefore if you still want the benefit of merging inquiries assuming Citi continues to use just one bureau on your app, AA and TYP apps from same entity and that is about the only pair in Citi families would do so. HHonor cards have its own entity but getting a regular HHonor and a Reserve seems to be a hit and miss.
Personal and Biz always come from different entities therefore they never have any merger of inquiries benefit,
