are there any other benefits if I turn up at a Thai or Singapore check-in booked in economy, Gold card in hand? Are any op-ups likely to happen? Can you do paid upgrades on either carrier at check-in?
Op-ups are highly unlikely on both TG and SQ. TG allows paid upgrades, do a search in this forum, there is at least one (maybe two) thread with upgrade prices across different routes for the last few years. Not sure about paid upgrades on SQ.
