Looking for recommendations of what area to stay in / what hotel and what to do.
Would prefer to spend under £200 per night for the hotel. Ideally closer to £100 but Sydney looks pricey.
The Rocks area has been suggested?
For that price and with kids the Four Points Sheraton should fit the bill. Your a tourist and being close to Darling Harbour with the Wildlife Park and Aquarium would be easier with 6 and 4 year olds than Taronga. You can head to the QVB and take the free shuttle around the CBD which takes you to the Quay, Opera House and Botanical Gardens.
If you want to be closer to the city centre try the All Seasons Menzies. A little long in the tooth but should be available in the price range.
