After it mis-credited I emailed scans of my boarding pass showing the class as J and receipts from the cash upgrade.

I had a person from QF call who originally said I would just get the original booking class, I argued a bit and said I would contact BA. I called BA and had them email me and copy the person from QF to say I should be credited as J, then back and forth for a few weeks and finally it was manually adjusted correctly.

Was quite a painful process. This was in July/August 2012.


The problem seems to be that they do not re-issue an e-ticket, whereas they do with an online POUG, so when it gets credited QF just see the original booking class. I am not sure whether the checkin/airport agent is able to re-issue an e-ticket, but if they can and you can get them to do it then it should credit correctly first time (to BA, QF, or other OW carriers I would think).
