No reputable travel agent would refuse to accept an AmEx credit card (or any other major brand), nor would they expect customers not to pay with a credit card for the consumer protection it carries. The DL Reserve card is not different from any other AmEx product in its treatment of fees and there shouldn't be an objection to a close relative paying for palne tickets. However, be sure that the tickets don't have a notation that the credit card must be shown at check in; apparently, this is a common practice in some markets as a fraud prevention measure.
OP here. I would book and buy the tickets myself so I could get the double bonus miles(24K or so). Would I get the double miles if I purchased the tickets through the travel agent vs. myself on dl.com?
