Wife and I are flying Air NZ from CLT to Auckland, NZ in Y. The first leg is CLT to LAX with a connection there. We're non-status. I'm assuming that we will be allowed to check a bag each for free. But upon return, we're flying on Air NZ from Syndney to LAX and taking overnight there until flying LAX to CLT. What about the last segment to CLT which is still on an NZ ticket?
