And what account are the miles crediting to? Im going to assume to AS mileage plan. In that case on AA you get treated like AS partner elite and the bennies that pertain to that. You wont get a first drink on us or be put in the upgrade waitlist on AA flight. On AS You will get the first drink on us, get to pick the elite seats and everything...When it comes to getting on the upgrade waitlist Im not sure how that works or if it does yet. There was a problem with upgrades on AA ticket stock in the past because AS would book you into U and the AA system has no U fare class and it would either cancel your ticket or kick you back into coach. All the card really does is pull up reservations on a kiosk and gets you a free beverage on AS operated flights when its not on their maifest either becaues you didnt put it in the reservation or you credited the miles to a second airline. If you booked on AA and used an AAdavantage number you get no elite benefits but for the free drink on AS if you show them the card. I agree partners and codeshares are confusing. I wish AS was the size of DL or AA and Id have no need for codeshares that much but then the service level would probably drop to the lowly standards of AA so for now Im fine with their still relatively small size
