Earlier on they were OK. Then they became more and more grizzly about it.

In the end, at the last occasion I spat the dummy and asked them to de-credit the original SCs at the lower level so that I could credit them to BA where I could get the full TPs and only then they decided to credit the full SCs and told me that the past credits were 'a mistake' and that they should not have given me the full SCs for the upgraded class despite having paid cash for it, and that they were doing this as a favour that time only because they had been doing that by mistake in the past and I genuinely believed that I would get a higher level of SCs.

I have the suspicion that they may now flat refuse. I have not done this since April 2012 when I changed over to BA.

BAEC and paid airport upgrade = no problem having the upgraded TPs and Avios credited manually to BAEC, although a manual intervention is generally required. I have just requested it for my husband and it was done within a week (they will tell you it will take up to 7 days when you call).
