The travel agent is quite good and arranging many private transfers and private tours. I know the agent is getting a very good commission from hotels and tours....etc.
It is not my intention to shortcut the middleman in this case. If it is all the same, I would like the 20K plus miles.
I see absolutely nothing wrong with asking. Depending on how large the travel agent is, they may get overrides. If the TA is making enough on commissions with your other purchases, they shouldn't have any problem with your paying for the airfare.
