My folks are planning a trip to Europe flying in J. Tickets will cost around 12K for the both of them. Is it wrong to ask the travel agent if I can pay for the airfare on my AMEX Reserve so I can accrue the points? Do they get commission for selling the airfare?
The travel agent is quite good and arranging many private transfers and private tours. I know the agent is getting a very good commission from hotels and tours....etc.
It is not my intention to shortcut the middleman in this case. If it is all the same, I would like the 20K plus miles.
