Yes, go ahead and add him as AU. His 15% discount and Companion Pass will get activated in about 2-3 days after you submit your request online. Interestingly, you don't even have to select to receive an add-on card in his name, just adding him as an authorized user is sufficient. Go ahead and do it, its worth it!
