BA participates in a program that allows them to tag bags so they don't have to be collected at DFW on international-international connections so they get to skip that step. Still have to go through immigration and back through security but time is saved not having to wait for bags.
I thought that the arrangement only applied to BA-QF connections, but, after further research, I discovered that you are right. I'm glad that the I-T-I baggage check program has been expanded.
