BA participates in a program that allows them to tag bags so they don't have to be collected at DFW on international-international connections so they get to skip that step. Still have to go through immigration and back through security but time is saved not having to wait for bags.
CP1983 when you check in at LHR make sure the agent tags them for an ITI connection and you wont have to reclaim bags.
