I have a different referral question but rather than start a thread with almost the same title I'll just post it here.
I referred 2 friends for the gold amex card. Those were my first referrals and I got my bonus points. They are supposed to get 20k points instead of 15k. One only got 15 and was told that's it because she missed a cut-off date (???) and the other got 15 and was told the other 5k would come after 3 months. Has anyone ran into this kind of runaround before? I referred from my platinum card so I thought I'd call the platinum number and see if I could get anywhere to push their points through but I haven't called yet.
I would suggest that you email Amex customer service through online access. They are very helpful and normally resolve these issues quickly. As far as the cut off date, I've never heard that before, but you should keep a snapshot of the referral screen and advise them you have that.
