My mother's commentary on the Raffles Hotel in Siem Reap is that she learned there that mosquito nets only work if you don't touch them. Her arm was covered in bites from pressing it against the net. She also said that she mocked my grandfather for his crazy habit of photographing old buildings. I'm quite glad he did!
This is my new favorite photo. It is Sukhumvit Road looking back towards the city at the modern day location of the Asok BTS station. Apparently, this area is where all the Americans lived in the mid-50s.
