I really like the main pool, but if you want privacy there is another near the Vidhun spa that noone used.
The reality is that the hotel is popular, and I really think everyone should give up on the idea of an upgrade, or secure it in advance with cash.
You can't spend that much time in the sun, so enjoy the public spaces, and take breaks in your room.
The property is amazing so enjoy it.
Thanks for the pep talk but we have asked to be moved. The hotel is full. I am not demanding an upgrade, but really we believe this is the worst room here. Maybe not all year, but as the sands shift on the island it is now. Same room category with some sand and beach umbrella and we would be happy campers.
We did pay for an upgrade to a water villa the later part of our stay but wanted to experience a beach villa during the first part. Problem is our beach villa effectively has no beach. If we wanted a public beach we wouldn't have come to the Maldives.
We have been to the Maldives before. This property overall I would say is not that amazing. Thus far it certainly doesn't live up to Park Hyatt standards or our previous Maldivian experience. Lots of little things I don't have time to go into right now. I'll grant that the quality of the reef is amazing.
I do agree we need an bit of an attitude adjustment to try and have a positive experience. Working on it. We flew past a lot of beach destinations half a world away so had higher expectations.
