as i recall (from FT rumors and news articles), the herringbone seat was designed exclusively for Virgin Atlantic and Air New Zealand. When other carriers such as AC wanted it, they made modifications (like the TV) a little different to avoid conflict. Nonetheless, Virgin Atlantic (not so sure about Air NZ) took legal action against the seat company....... And then the story ends without an ending.
