My frustration with this relationship, in terms of codeshare routes was not the number of routes but the times offered. Last year I had several experiences where there was an AS codeshare flight by, but it did not align well with the AS flights into the hub. This required me to purchase the whole thing on AA.
When you find these types of situations, I encourage you to write a quick note to AS with the details. I'm sure that they would be interested in fixing them.
