I feel the same as the OP. Flying to DUS most months I know that every CE I book is in one of the ex-BMI aircraft and I think for CE they are under par.

I too wondered about trade descriptions especially as I know in advance I'm not getting the product. Of course I put up with it in order to get the TPs but having written in about it I got a standard reply about listening to customers etc. DUS changes back to T5 again soon so I'll not be affected every time but even so I think it is a poor show.
