Points-rich but not using them -- strategies?

So I have been collecting miles & points for a few years now and have somewhat of a dilemma. I have ~200k UA miles, a few thousand on a bunch of other airlines, and also ~160k with Chase. This is a tremendous amount of miles and it's really cool to think that, theoretically, I can go anywhere I want in the whole world at any time! However the problem is that I just don't seem to have opportunities to use my miles & points. My travel is usually for business (which is why I have so many miles), and my family keeps insisting that they pay to fly me home for holidays. My job flies me around quite a bit but doesn't pay very much, and so my wife and I and don't have the time or budget to take huge vacations even though we've talked about it. What are strategies to use the points I've accumulated? Theoretically they are useful in the future, but their value deteriorates as the airlines make award flights less available and increase the price in points of international award tickets.
