I now recall you mentioning it (though not at the time). The (English) description did not mention VOD (I thought it meant things like YouTube), but did mention something about "business use" so that's why I chose it.

My inbound flight arrived late, it was 11 pm and my boss wanted my trip report by the end of the (US) workday. I had several attachments to send and wanted to get to sleep rather than spend 20 min dealing with typical hotel Internet speeds. I recalled the theme of this thread being Plat get top speed and we should just choose it. I didn't call the FD for clarification because my experience in Miami was being told to use the basic service.

I chose an SPG property mainly because I expected the highest level of service promised to Plat. The overall Plat experience for this stay was excellent, and they waived the Internet fee with very little argument. However, I've been a Plat for less than a year and I'm quickly understanding the frustration expressed in these threads regarding inconsistency of that promise. If consistency doesn't matter then there are plenty of alternatives, especially around FRA.
