When I used Air Asia X last spring, they only flew to HGH (Hangzhou) which they're promoting as Shanghai, but which obviously isn't. And which also won't work for the 72-hour visa-free transit.
Indeed they do fly to shanghai according to their schedule - it says shanghai (PVG) on the booking page.
