This is true. Many UA FAs love to talk about their grandchildren and that can be endearing if they also provide professional and friendly service.
As mentioned above, seniority dictates what routes FAs get to select to fly, so in general those with low seniority won't be flying international routes. Also as per the age issue, if the more "senior" FAs are talking about their "grandchildren", they probably don't mind being away from home several days at a time. The "less senior" FAs don't necessarily want to be away from home, especially if they have little ones at home to take care of.
