Let me clarify: The problem with the 2-step process is that it deletes your Known Traveler # from your profile. Then the
next time you go to purchase - whether you use the 2-step or 4-step process - your KT# will not populate. Because it was deleted from your profile the last time you purchased.
If you use the 4-step process, then your KT# will be preserved in your profile for future use.
If you notice that your KT# is missing from your profile when you put it in beforehand, it is likely because you used the 2-step purchase process which has a bug that deletes it from your profile.
For months this was repeatedly but inconsistently happening to me and I finally got the explanation. Once it was explained to me, I started using the 4-step process and haven't had a problem since.
