Which you choose depends partly on how much you value convenience, how much you value comfort and how much you value your miles. The mileage redemption vs $2000 on US means you are getting value of ~ 2c per mile - slightly less if you factor the miles you would earn by flying US. Generally that's not considered particularly good value for a redemption, but it depends mostly on what else you might redeem your miles for - would it be more or less valuable? Do you have the cash to spend $2000 in the first place? Those are the sort of questions which only you can answer.
Then there are the other questions. What are the flight timings. An all day domestic to the East Coast and then a short hop overnight TATL is generally not a good start, jetlag-wise, to a trip to Europe. The long flight from the West Coast, leaving as late as possible is generally better.
Lie flat seats are a huge aid for jet lag. LH has very few of these, but US has them on its A330 and they are very good.
Two stops are a PITA on any itinerary, unless you are deliberately trying to maximise mileage. The itinerary with two stops earns you no miles, will be far more likely to go wrong and will probably take longer.
All of these matters are subjective and depend on your priorities.
