Yes, it is new. HA is the only airline that serves free (included) meals in Y on domestic flights. Even the longer EWR-HNL flight on UA at almost 11 hours has no free meals.

Personally, I think it is reasonable IF they stock enough buy on board meals, which I gather is not always the case.
