I knew that, when I saw this was run by Barclaycard, I should have just moved on and left it.
Applied for my card a couple of weeks ago and was approved straight away. I have a large bill that needs paying today, so was quite confident that things would all be in place to use it today, especially as they state up to 10 working days for the card to arrive.
PIN arrived two working days later, along with a letter asking me to phone them to check some details, which I had already done on the phone. Phoned them to check that was all OK and they confirmed it was.
I got an email a week later saying that I should now be using the card. Phoned them to say I hadn't got it, and they assured me it would certainly be with me within the 10 days.
Phoned them today to report that I still hadn't got it. A bit of tapping went on and I was assured that I would have it by Monday. It was quite clear from the tone of the conversation that she had just done something to release the card, which is why she was so confident that I will have it for Monday.
Just going to use my Amex for the payment that I've been holding on for (and which I therefore could have done a couple of weeks ago, and I'm not sure if I'm now going to be able to get the £10k spend done in time.
I think I'll just end up returning the card when it finally arrives. I'm not sure that there is a benefit in the world that is worth having to deal with Barclaycard for.
