Well, first, you could just say "Media reports are misleading" and leave it at that. Headlines are not intended to convey Truth, they're intended to get you to buy the paper/click the link/read the ad.

But yeah, even here the Sydney Morning Herald reported:
Security peepshow is over in US airports where not only is the headline inaccurate and titillating, but the article itself says
But that didn't satisfy many passengers, who chose to opt out of the machines...
Y'all keep telling me that hardly anyone opts out.
