Sounds like your appraisal of the posts is accurate. You might get something, you might not. It is always best to ask as they don't generally offer. Hotels in Asia and Central and Eastern Europe are higher quality and give better service than most in the USA but you can get a good one there also. As they are all "independently owned and operated" the best way to think of the BW chain is an umbrella RESERVATION service for independent hotels. Some are good some are not. You were matched status, as were a LOT of other people. Don't expect any more than is listed and be aware that Upgrades, Welcome Gifts and Bonus points ONLY apply to stays in the US and Canada. If they have a property in the area you are staying in your price range than book it, but don't expect to get anything automatically.
