Online the computer wont offer ridiculous connection times. Could have something to do with branding and not wanting to leave a bad impression with a customer sitting all day. Could also have something to do with baggage. They dont want baggage to be sitting around for hours as it makes it a higher chance for it to get lost. If you call the call center or go to the airport you can make any segments match up that you want. You may or may not have to check your luggage back in.

Jetblue only flies to Long Beach, CA from Austin, Not LAX so a connection with Hawaiian wouldn't make much sense as its 2 different airports. Hawaiian doesn't fly into Long Beach, CA. Hawaiian already flies to all the major cities on the westcoast so a codeshare wouldn't benefit anyone since westcoast residents wouldn't fly Jetblue anyways as much as Alaska or United.
