Nothing wrong with wearing a helmet. Skiing/boarding is faster now and the popularity of freestyle events on the TV have more than removed any 'uncool' stigma attached to helmets.
I won't always wear one on skis but definitely will if going off piste. I can't imagine going on my board without a helmet on.
