Weird routing questions with JetBlue
About a year ago, my normal business trip destination changed from Ft. Monmouth NJ (to which I'd take JetBlue nonstop from AUS to JFK even though EWR was closer, because I love JetBlue and the other options, although quicker, were way painful - Continental regional jet or AA connection with almost inevitable DFW delay) to the Aberdeen Proving Grounds (closest airport BWI, second closest PHL).
Oddly, though BWI had service from JFK, JetBlue won't even allow this as a connecting flight. (I've thought about doing it even though it would take a couple extra hours just for the points). Anybody know why? At one point, you could even pretend to book a trip from BWI to AUS, but not the other way around.
Also, is there a reason JetBlue only codeshares Hawaiian on the East Coast? From Austin, I'd love to have had the option to fly with them to LAX, and then Hawaiian the rest of the way on our last couple of trips out there.
