Why are people celebrating? As far as I'm concerned, this really isn't a major victory.

As an aside, I recently read an article (can't remember who wrote it but it was an esteemed journalist who frequently writes about travel issues) where he wrote that he expects ALL scanners to eventually be phased out as they get towards the end of their life span. Or something to that effect. To me, that seems a little bit too optimistic. But maybe he knows something we don't. Anyone heard anything like this?

In the meanwhile OPT OUT ALWAYS
Demand FRESH GLOVES "FROM THE BOX" ALWAYS

Thanks.
What's their lifespan? Do we know? It certainly can't be very long.

My guess is we're stuck with them. "EOL" just means "we'll find something else".
